7 Card Stud

7-CARD STUD – RULES 7 Card Stud is played with up to 8 players, and is generally fixed limit betting. How to play:

Every player antes up. Some sites do not use an ante but generally the ante is 10% or 25% of the small blind.

3rd Street: Following the ante, each player gets 2 cards, dealt face down. These and the hole cards. They also get 1 card face up.

Then player with the lowest face up card must “bring in” and must bet half the small bet. Players then take it in turns to raise, call or fold.

4th Street: Another card is dealt face up to each player. This is followed by another round of betting. From this street on, the player with the best exposed hand begins the betting. For example if player A has J,Q and player B has 6,7, and player C has 9,9 player C must start the betting as he has a pair.

5th Street: A 5th card is dealt to each player, face up. In a fixed limit game, this is hen the big bet begins.

6th Street: Another face up card dealt to everyone, and a further round of betting

7th Street: Final card dealt face up and final betting round.

If the situation arises where there are not enough cards left n the deck, 1 final card is dealt in the middle of the board and is shared between all the players.

The best hand is the winner. The best hand is the best 5 cards out of the 7 cards in the player’s hand.
