Online Gambling a Hit with the Brits

1st Aug 2007

The amount of people in Britain who are venturing online to place their bets is allegedly rising.

Surveys that have been undertaken throughout the year have shown that 8.6 percent of adults have been a part of a form of online gambling during the past month, which is 1.2 percent more than similar polls in 2006.

The most recent statistics, which have been taken from the quarterly surveys of the Gambling Commission, show the national lottery to be the most popular type of gambling on the Internet, closely followed by online poker.
