2007 Poker ranking champion revealed

Online poker champion Jon "Pearljammer" Turner is the Internet Poker Rankings (IPR) 2007 player of the year, IPR has announced.
Pearljammer has amassed an eye-catching online reputation with more than 100 wins, 600 final tables and almost to $2 million in cashes, his biggest cash win being $100,000 after coming second in the recent PokerStars million.
According to IPR, Pearljammer has also signed a sponsorship deal with Full Tilt Poker and a poker book deal with Dimat Enterprises angled at no-limit tournament strategy.
IPR tracks the top online poker players in Europe and the US and players have a choice to take part in either.
Monthly winners are also tracked by their successes and the game is already on for the winner of the 2008 crown.
"SCTrojans" and "Tmay420" came second and third in the top ten players of last year, while 2006 winner "phat_cat" achieved eighth place.
Norwegan Annette Obrestad recently became the youngest winner of the best performance of the year accolade at the European Poker Awards in Paris.
