Absolute Poker launches Assassin Bounty tourneys
16th April, 2008
Online gaming operator AbsolutePoker.com has launched a series of new tournaments that reward high-risk strategies on the poker table.
Dubbed Assassin Bounty tournaments, the poker games follow standard Texas Hold'Em rules with the sole exception that gamers will be awarded an additional buy-in if they succeed in knocking out a competitor.
Commenting on the innovative approach to shoring up aggressive gameplay, AbsolutePoker.com vice president David Clainer said simply: "This is online poker action to die for."
He added: "Just as we did with the introduction of bad beat jackpot, we're making it easier for players to profit big from Texas Hold'Em without necessarily finishing in the money."
One of the games included in the new series is Absolute Poker's popular $209 (£105) Saturday qualifier tournament, in which the first-place finisher will secure a seat at the World Series of Poker.
In that event, every single time a gamer knocks out an opponent they will receive a $100 bounty, redeemable as a buy-in for other tournaments.
