AbsolutePoker.com acquires former skin
15th February, 2008
Leading gaming website AbsolutePoker.com has acquired one of its poker affiliates, VegasPoker247.com.
Having securing ownership rights of the smaller poker room, AbsolutePoker will now incorporate the subsidiary into its own fold, effectively re-designing all VegasPoker247 websites and tournaments under its own brand.
The two poker rooms have yet to be fully amalgamated but are expected to do so in the immediate future, with all poker player profiles and funds being automatically migrated onto the same server.
VegasPoker247 had previously served as a 'skin' - or alternative entry point - for its new owner, so according to Joe Norton of AbsolutePoker's parent group, Tokwiro Enterprises ENRG, the merger should be trouble-free.
"Today's online gaming community demands and expects a transformative gaming experience that seamlessly integrates superior technology, responsiveness to customer needs and a safe and secure environment in which to play," Mr Norton said. "AbsolutePoker and VegasPoker247 are at the centre of this trend."
Since its launch in 2003, AbsolutePoker has built up a community of some two million regular poker players.
