Annette Obrestad Fails To Impress At WSOP

15th June, 2010

The anticipation surrounding the Norwegian poker protg Annette Obrestad for her debut at the WSOP was electric. The young player won the WSOPE in 2007 and since has accumulated $3,075,000 for her efforts.

Annette, until now, had been too young to enter the WSOP tournament in the states due to gambling age restrictions in the country. Since turning 21 shes had had her sights set firmly on the WSOP as wanted to enter as many events as possible.

However, 23 events later and she has only managed a 72nd place finish, collecting just $10,497.

Yet, despite her low profile on the poker tables shes certainly been causing a storm outside of the casino, after an outburst about her fellow female players saying they suck badly. She then went on to attack the Godfather of poker, 10 times bracelet winner, Doyle Brunson.

Online players process information so much faster and dont let their egos get in the way of becoming a better player. No disrespect to Doyle, but Id rather play him.

The WSOP isnt yet half way through so Annette still has plenty of opportunities to redeem her and to back up her confident manner. If all else fails she still has one good option open.

Doyle has cordially extended an invitation to the young poker professional, who is almost a quarter of own his age. By the way, Im at Bobbys Room almost every day if she really wants to play.

Now that would be a poker game not to miss!
