Betfair sets date for WSOPE II

The second annual World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) event will take place in London between September 19th and October 1st, it has been confirmed.
Leading online gaming operator Betfair Poker confirmed the date today, adding that the same London Clubs International venues that were used in the inaugural event will once again host this year's tournament.
They are Fifty on St James' St, The Casino at the Empire in Leicester Square and the Sportsman in Marble Arch.
While the precise schedule has yet to be completed, World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack said the remarkable success of last year's proceeding meant that there was little question of the tour returning in 2008.
"There are many, many talented players in the European poker community and I think it [WSOPE 2007] caught some of the world's best known poker players by surprise," he said. "It's safe to say the pros haven't forgotten about last year and the young guns should expect a tougher fight in 2008."
At last years event, acclaimed teenage poker star Annette Obrestad beat off the likes of Doyle Brunson and Phil Hellmuth to walk away with the £1 million top cash prize.
