Biggest Ever Poker Pot $743,800

14th November, 2007

This week on high stakes poker the biggest pot in history was played between Jamie Gold and Patrik Antonius for over $700 000. The minimum buy in has been recently raised to $500 000 so it was only a matter of time till we saw a pot if this size.

The hand enrolled in the following way: Patrik Antonius picked up As-Jd. Raised pot by $4000.

Jamie Gold picked up KK

Re-raised the pot to $14000 which was called.

Flop came 3s-Qd-Th.

The pot was raised by Gold by $15000 in which Antonius called.

Amazingly the turn brought the Kh. Gold now had 3 of a kind but Antonius had a straight.

Antonius bet $45,000, and Gold moved all-in for $341,500. Antonius called pretty much straight away, which created the biggest pot in history of $743,800.

Since it was a cash game though the players were allowed to make a deal. They both decided to play the river three times, so that around $250000 was at stake on each card. Gold was a 3-1 underdog and was hoping to catch at least one lucky card, but he got even luckier than that he hit twice the first card came a Qh making him a full house, the second river card dealt was the 3d giving him another full house. The final card bought a bit of justice to Antonius with the 8s which held up his straight. He took a third of the pot and the rest went to Gold. The High Stakes Poker has certainly been heated with the new buy in of $500,000.
