Bwin Reshuffle Poker Business

25th January, 2010

Online poker operator Bwin is rearranging its business by appointing Peter Bertilsson as the new Managing Director of its Bwin Games AB subsidiary.

Bertilsson has over 15 years of experience in the gambling industry and was head of Boss Media between 2001 and 2006, helping to grow the company and turn it into a thriving business-to-business vehicle.

“We have convinced a true veteran of the online gaming business-to-business business to take the challenge leading this business unit,” said Norbert Teufelberger, Co-CEO of Bwin.

He continued, “As the market environment changes in that fast moving industry, business-to-business capabilities will be key for the US and Asia but also for riding the regulation wave in Europe. To carve out a distinct and strategic business-to-business unit is the order of the day. It is time to evaluate, complete and enhance the product portfolio to be prepared for the future.”

More recently, Peter Bertilsson oversaw many new companies that he helped to establish and is now replacing Carl Klingberg at Bwin.

“I am very happy to take this opportunity,” said Bertilsson. “There have never been greater opportunities within the gambling sector than right now and Bwin has a very strong position to make these happen.”
