Cartwright to host charity poker tournament
4th December, 2007
Nancy Cartwright, best known as the voice of Bart Simpson, is hosting yet another charity poker tournament at her California home just months after the success of a similar event in September.
The Emmy award-winning actress will welcome poker players from all walks of life to her mansion on December 15th to raise funds for her charity Happy House.
Money collected during the tournament will be put towards the distribution of one million Happy House leaflets which give advice on building safer and happier communities for people to live in.
"It's the kind of thing that many people could sit down and read pretty quickly and these little reminders such as to take care of yourself, the environment, your family and parents, to try to live with the truth and to do good work and basically to treat others as you would have them treat you, these little reminders are things we need," Cartwright said of the flyers, according to Internet-Poker.co.uk.
The event follows a similar night held at Cartwright's Northridge home four months ago, where she invited guests to join in a Texas Hold'em tournament to win a place at the World Series of Poker.
December's event, tickets for which cost $75 (£36), will be open to the public and will also include a barbecue.
