Celebrity poker tournament to be held in Vegas

The event, which is taking place on December 11th, will be hosted by Robin Leach, best known for 1980s TV show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous.

So far, US country music singers Luke Bryan and Charley Pride have been confirmed as playing at the tournament, alongside rodeo star Houston Hutto.

Singer Buddy Jewell is also planning to make an appearance and help raise money to put towards leukemia, cancer and Aids research.

Around 150 players are expected to take to the felt tables for the No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em Tournament which will kick off at noon.

Poker players heading to the gambling centre of the world for the tournament will need $500 (£246) to buy into the game along with a $50 registration fee.

Those who decide to stay on at the Las Vegas Hilton after the event will be able to catch crooner Barry Manilow strutting his stuff at a concert being held at the venue on December 15th.
