Deal leaves stoned poker players grinning

10th March, 2008

A new deal between management firm CanAffco and special-interest poker website ReeferPoker.com is set to leave marijuana-loving online poker players marginally less indifferent.

As part of the agreement, CanAffco will provide affiliate management and marketing services for the uniquely-themed poker site - launched last month in Canada.

While marijuana remains illegal in Canada, medical exceptions are in place for people who claim the drug affords them relief from serious ailments and law enforcement officials are believed to take a relatively laid back approach to personal consumption.

Commenting on the new agreement, CanAffco president Gian Perroni, said: "We have done business with the owners of ReeferPoker.com in the past and know them to be ethical, honest businessman and we expect them to have great success with this site."

He added: "They've shown us that marijuana culture runs deep with many poker players. We expect affiliates to find a whole new crowd to convert."

Canada has a reputation for being one of the most cannabis-friendly countries in the world, as popularised through cult TV show Trailer Park Boys.
