Doyle Brunson 'most influential figure' in game
27th February, 2008
Doyle Brunson, better known by the moniker Texas Dolly, has been officially crowned the most influential figure in the game of poker for the second year running.
Bluff Magazine bestowed the 75-year-old with its most prestigious accolade, citing his glittering career over decades of gaming which has included no fewer than ten World Series of Poker bracelets as well as 19 other money finishes on the circuit.
"Doyle is, bar none, the most recognizable name in all of poker," asserted the February issue of Bluff Magazine. "The 'Godfather of Poker' has been there from day one of the World Series of Poker and, from the looks of it, he is not going anywhere soon."
In addition to the immense achievements of his decades-long career, Texas Dolly has also shown an ability to keep up with the times by launching Doyles Room - now one of the web's leading online poker rooms.
Doyles Room was this week accredited with having the highest customer service feedback rating of any internet-based operator, singled out for its fast query response time and useful poker advice and tips resources.
