27th July, 2009

For the second year running, Bluff Europe Magazine has named Dublin the European poker capital!

The magazine praised Dubliners for their passion for the game, as well as the number of card clubs, variety of games ranging from rookie tournaments, to big professional games.

Dublin managed to beat London to the top spot, with London finishing in second place, but was also praised for its commitment to players with numerous clubs, tournaments but also its introduction of pub poker throughout the City.

Dublin nabbed the top spot over London due to its enthusiasm, and great attitude towards the game, as well as table banter.

Dublin is home to the annual Irish Open, which is also the oldest poker tournament within Europe. Ireland is also hosting the Irish Classic Poker Festival next month, where Gaming Alerts will have exclusive updates from a partner player who has been entered into the tournament!
