Euro licence for Poker Academy
19th March, 2008
People who play online poker stand to benefit from a new licensing deal between software developer Poker Academy and French games publisher, Anuman Interactive.
As part of the deal Anuman now has the exclusive rights to market and sell a range of Poker Academy products, all of which revolve around poker advice and practice for players looking to improve their game.
The developer's software allows poker enthusiasts to unmask and address the flaws in their playing style by providing in-depth and graphical analyses of poker hand histories.
Rather than simply giving a statistical breakdown of individual merit the software also goes one step further by simulating numerous different opponent playing styles, allowing players to gradually improve their success rate by practising in a range of different scenarios.
"If a player can consistently beat our bots that play near-perfect poker, then they should do very well competing in any situation against humans who play flawed poker," commented Kurt Lange, president of Poker Academy.
The software is presently only available in English and French, but Mr Lange said that the new deal with Anuman will see Poker Academy's footprint expanding to cater for speakers of six additional languages.
