FTOPS Breaks Highest Payout Record

26th February, 2008

The Full Tilt Online Poker Series has ended and it has now been revealed that two different events went over $2million dollars in prize pool money, a new record for the highest ever pay out.

With twenty separate events to choose from, from Texas Hold’em to Razz, the FTOPS are a huge favourite of online poker players. The tournament’s eventual winner was awarded almost half a million dollars and other players throughout the tournament won in different events.

One event during the tournament was actually stopped early when players reached over $300,000 and then re-continued the following day. During the tournament one player walked away with over $300,000 and another won over $250,000.

Last Sunday also saw the PokerStars Turbo Takedown tournament, which had almost 10,000 players competing for a first place prize of $200,000. This tournament holds the record for the largest ever tournament that only requires Player Points to participate.
