Full Tilt Online Poker Series Contest

7th August, 2008

As if the action in the Full Tilt Online Poker Series wasn’t enough, many players are also competing in a side contest with more than $100,000 on the line.

Players can either take part in the singles contest for $2,000 or join the teams’ contest where teams of three put up $6,000 total each.

In the teams contest the best finish by each team in each event is tallied and given points based on tournament size and place finished. In both contests the results are tallied from every event and added to each team or single person’s total. The team or person with the most points wins the contest.

This contest has added a lot of attention to the FTOPS because even people not playing are interested in how the contest will unfold. The contest results are updated regularly so that spectators and participants can keep up with the competition.

“I thought it would be cool to watch the contests play out as they were happening, so I started doing live updates for them,” said Craig “cjm” Muir, administrator of the FTOPS Contest. “We started to run contests for the FTOPS and WCOOP because there was demand for it. I think a lot of people end up watching it and getting involved through pure interest. They may not be able to play, but they was to see how it will unfold.”

Muir created the contest for both the FTOPS and WCOOP because so many people were wanting a side contest for the whole thing.

The FTOPS has already begun, starting on the 25th August, and is a 25-event series ending on the 17th August with the FTOPS 9 Main Event, which is a $500+$30 buy in with a guaranteed prize pool of $2,500,000.
