Gaming website reveals top Xmas gifts for poker players

19th December, 2007

The Casino City Times website has published a list of what it believes to be the top Christmas gifts for poker playing loved ones this Christmas.

The site has named ten gifts which are ideal for the aspiring card player, including a stainless steel moneyclip to hold your winnings in and a World Poker Tour pinball machine.

Also named as the perfect stocking filler is a card shuffler, which the site claims can help reduce wear and tear on you deck, while a poker instruction DVD is also likely to impress a gaming fanatic.

An iPod nano is also recommended, which will allow aspiring pros to "listen to the best poker podcasts out there to help them improve their game" and a copy of top poker film Rounders is also a popular choice to put under the tree.

The Casino City Times says that poker chips and a poker table are always going to be a hit with loved ones although it warns that the cost of these items can vary.

A copy of Doyle Brunson Super System is said to be invaluable to wannabe players – with contributions from some of the biggest names in the game including Bobby Baldwin, Mike Caro, Dave Sklansky and Joey Hawthorne.

However, the best Christmas present, according to the site, is a seat at the World Series of Poker – with the 2008 schedule recently being described as the "most exciting yet" by commissioner Jeffrey Pollack.
