Golden Nugget announces Grand Poker Series
30th January, 2008
One of Las Vegas' most popular casinos, the Golden Nugget, has unveiled details of a new series of tournaments this summer.
The events will include a range of low-buy-ins open to non-professional players and will be held in June and July - just as thousands of poker enthusiasts flock to Sin City for the World Series of Poker.
No Limit Texas Hold'Em will be the biggest game in the tournaments, but a number of Omaha and H.O.R.S.E. events are also being held. The majority of buy-ins will be just $200+25 or $500+50.
The Grande Finale to begin July 5th will have a buy-in of $1,000+80, however, as will the series openers - a charity event to be hosted by popular US talk show celebrity Montel Williams.
A special ladies tournament will also be held June 9th, while a seniors-only event has been slated for June 23rd.
The Golden Nugget was the setting for the forthcoming poker movie The Grand and the Grand Poker Series will be sporting a film-theme in honour of the film, released this March.
