The next World Series of Poker is on again and one would expect poker players to come in droves. Big prizes and pot money awaits the winner of this event which explains why this is always well-attended by both spectators and players from all over the world. But for those of you who are newbies in this field, pay attention to this news tidbit so you can have a better time during the event during your first year.
Food Extravaganza
You will find that most of the time, card players will be staying in Las Vegas for the duration of the event competing at several card tables at the Rio. Here is where the WSOP action starts and ends. In between poker hands, you may be interested to know how you can go about the good places available within the immediate perimeter of the area.
There would be buffet tables available while you’re in Vegas to fill your tummies and start the grueling hours ahead again. The best part with this setup is that the foods served are something you can appreciate and share when you back to your respective hometowns. If you’re after burgers, you can pass by the front rooms while in the back, you will find the steakhouse. And if beef is you’re kind of meat, the French style rib eye on the bone is highly recommended. But if you’re harping for fine dining restaurants, you will find the Steakhouse at the Rio the perfect place to be.
Entertainment Places
To find entertainment and get more chance to relax and take in Las Vegas, there would be live shows at the Mirage. You will be awed by the performances of the all time favorite Beatles along the lines of Cirque du Soleil. Stargazing is possible at the Palms which is only across the street when you’re coming from the Rio. You will also find the Playboy Club here. Who knows, you might even chance on a celebrity strolling in the same area. And with WSOP, the possibility is higher. For something more relaxing and laid back evening, visit the Gold Coast and you will find that a night with the locals can be just as thrilling.
After all these sightseeing, you will find yourself in a better mood to play against other players. You might even win here and there. But of course, like everyone else, you might even get to the final table for a chance at the pot money plus bragging rights.
