Jake Cody Wins European Poker Tour
28th January, 2010
A 21 year old former Psychology student from Rochdale, Jake Cody, has beaten 768 people to be crowned the EPT Deauville’s Champion.
The new poker sensation, known as ‘neverbluff67’ when playing online poker, played and won his first ever EPT and we’re sure it won’t be his last. The player despite not having much experience in live poker is a force to be reckoned with online after winning $198,000 for a second-place finish in a $1,500 tournament.
The final table of eight had a good mix of up and coming stars and a couple of more established professionals. The most recognisable face was Peter Eastgate, the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event Champion and he was joined by Craig "HU4ROLLZ" Bergeron and Mike "Timex" McDonald who hoped to be the first player to win two EPT events, after he won the Dortmund leg last year.
Jack Cody won €847,000 for his brilliant win and has secured himself a seat at the Monte Carlo Grand Final later in the year.
