Ladbrokes Poker Million VII looms

18th February, 2008

Qualifying tournaments are now being held for the Ladbrokes Poker Million VII series - Europe's longest-running televised poker tournament.

Ladbrokes Poker has confirmed that daily satellites will be running between now and June 29th, affording amateur online players the chance to sit alongside some of the poker world's biggest names at the event.

The Texas Hold'Em tournament will consist of 12 televised, six-person heats with a colossal prize pool of some $21 million (£11 million) - and a guaranteed first place prize of one million dollars.

A new feature has also been added to this year's event in the form of four bonus semi-final seats, two of which are up for grabs in online satellites and the other two in second-chance tournaments.

"We think the addition of four seats and the opportunity to get in on the action while the event is full flow is another interesting facet to the tournament that will be welcomed by our players," said Ladbrokes Poker managing director Edward Ihre. "Ultimately, we want to ensure that the format remains fresh and exciting to all."

The Ladbrokes Poker Million VII will be broadcast every Tuesday from September 9th to December 9th on Sky Sports 2.
