Ladbrokes hosts weekly WSOP satellites

8th March, 2008

For the second year in a row, leading online gaming operator Ladbrokes Poker is running a series of satellites that offer seats at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event in Las Vegas.

WSOP 2008 will be held between May 30th and July 16th, encompassing some 55 separate poker events and attracting 50,000 participants - each of them vying for their share of a colossal £$150 million (£75 million) total prize pool.

The most popular event is always the Texas Hold'Em main event and thanks to Ladbrokes Poker amateur online players can now earn a seat at the tournament by winning one of the operator's satellites, running every Wednesday at 19:45 BST.

Poker enthusiasts can enter the weekly satellites with a direct $1,000+$90 buy-in, or they take part in one of the daily WSOP qualifying tournaments that come with a more moderate buy-in of $100+$9.

Each satellite will award one WSOP prize package, which includes the $10,000 buy-in as well as money for travel and accommodation.
