Ladbrokes offers $1m WSOP bonus

12th May, 2008

Ladbrokes Poker is giving its members the chance to bag up to $1 million dollar (£500,000) if they reach the final table at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

Any of its members who make it onto the final poker table will receive a bonus payout irrespective of their final ranking in the tournament, Ladbrokes Poker managing director Edward Ihre confirmed.

He said the sponsorship package had been announced in response to the decision by WSOP event organisers to postpone the final table until November, leaving a four month gap between the penultimate and final games.

"Harrah's decision to delay the Main Event Final table by 117 days will provide all nine players with an unprecedented experience and opportunity to prepare for the final table," commented Mr Ihre.

Ladbrokes-sponsored Jon "Skalie" Kalmar, who finished fifth in the 2007 Main Event, added: "Team Ladbrokes has the resources and experience to help any of their players who make it to the final table … And let's face it; a million bucks bonus isn't too shabby either."
