Ladbrokes prepares WSOP Team League

10th March, 2008

Ladbrokes Poker has confirmed that it will be sending a full team of poker hopefuls to this year's World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas.

The forthcoming 39th WSOP games will be held in Harrah's Rio casino between May and July. Pre-registration opened last week, but teams of between two and four people can now battle it out for free seats over at Ladbrokes Poker.

Every Thursday, the online poker operator will be hosting a series of team tournaments giving groups of players the chance to earn league points through numerous $20+2 (£10+1) Texas Hold'Em buy-in games.

The top 100 players in the league will be awarded points in line with their performances and the team with the highest overall tally will secure $14,000 prize packages for each of its members, which include the $10,000 WSOP buy-ins plus travel and accommodation expenses.

And for those who miss out on the top spot, runner-up teams who come in 2nd to 36th place will then be invited to an exclusive freeroll offering one lucky poker enthusiast the chance to win another $14,000 prize package.

Players have until 12:00 BST on Wednesday to register their teams.
