Mobile awards for WPT Texas Hold'Em 2

27th February, 2008

It emerged this week that one of the mobile gaming industry's most popular poker titles, World Poker Tour (WPT) Texas Hold'Em 2, has received numerous awards since its launch in October 2007.

Online poker software developer Hands-On Mobile confirmed yesterday that its flagship title has received industry recognition in three separate categories over the past five months.

US telecommunication firm AT&T awarded Texas Hold'Em 2 the Best Card/Casino Game and Best Multiplayer Game accolades during its annual review of the industry, while Gambling Online Magazine afforded it the silver award for Top Mobile Poker Game.

Steve Lipscomb, president of WPT Enterprises, said that the success of the game hinged on its ability to tap into poker players' relentless appetite for tournament action, regardless of where they happen to be.

"Today's poker enthusiast is constantly looking for new ways to connect with the game, whether they're at home, on the go, or sitting at the final table in the world's biggest tournament," he said.

Since the game's launch last October, over 12 million hands have been dealt to some 140,000 unique users of WPT Texas Hold'Em 2.
