Mobile poker game launched for Xmas
13th December, 2007
Top poker player Gus Hansen has launched a new poker gamefor mobile phone users – but admits he is not yet able to complete it.
Million Dollar Poker was released by game developer Gameloft this week and is one of the few mobile poker games to offer cutting edge artificial intelligence so that simulated opponents play more realistically than ever before.
Having won four World Poker Tour championships and finishing first in the 2007 Aussie Millions, Gus Hanson was a prime candidate to imbue real-world poker wisdom and experience into the game. However, 'The Great Dane' had to admit that his mobile gaming skills do not yet match those he shows at the poker table.
"The embarrassing thing is that I am yet to complete the game," Hansen wrote on his blog. "It takes a lot of skill to master that game's artificial intelligence as we wanted to create a game that offered a real challenge for you guys."
Gameloft explained that the game boasts an array of more than one million unique opponent profiles, meaning that each player's skill level will be suitably matched by their opponents and that they will not be forced to repeatedly face the same opponents.
