New boss takes helm at CryptoLogic

1st March, 2008

CryptoLogic has announced the appointment of a new president and chief executive to take the place of the retiring Javaid Aziz at the poker software firm.

Brian Hadfield will be taking the helm at the internet gaming software company after joining as a director in 2007.

He previously worked for Unisys for 21 years, five of which were spent as the firm's managing director in the UK, Middle East, Africa and India.

"CryptoLogic has the right people, products and partnerships. And with a foundation of financial strength, CryptoLogic also has the right strategy for global growth. Together, we can take this thriving business to a new level of success," Mr Hadfield said of his new role.

He will be building on strong foundations laid by Mr Aziz, who has overseen four consecutive quarters of growth and the award earlier this year of Gambling Online Magazine's Top Casino Software Award.

"In a dynamic business, it's never an easy time to make a personal decision, but I do so with great satisfaction about CryptoLogic's accomplishments, and great confidence in its future," he said.

The firm's software is behind the top five internet poker rooms and has processed $54 million in financial transactions for 2.5 million global users.
