New online poker site hits the web
21st December, 2007
Part of the Action Poker Network, the new site will feature numerous forms of the game including some less well-known versions such as Big 2 Poker, Guts Poker and Chinese Poker.
It will also offer standard forms of the game including Texas Hold’Em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud and 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo.
Players are encouraged to compete with other members who span the globe – although the site says that most of its customers will hail from Europe and the US.
The new site also offers freerolls which are held several times a day with prizes ranging from $50 (£25) to $200 on weekdays, up to $400 at the weekend.
Recent figures show that online poker is becoming increasingly popular – particularly among young people.
An article posted in financial magazine The Economist this week stated that the "rapid growth of poker online means newcomers can learn the art much more quickly than in earlier eras".
