New poker game for T-Mobile users
17th January, 2008
T-Mobile customers will now be able to play poker on their phones, thanks to a deal reached with the makers of World Poker Tour Texas Hold 'Em 2 (WPT2).
The portable poker game, made by software developer Hands-On Mobile, has already proven hugely popular with American users since its launch six months ago and it is hoped the game will soon be extended to other UK networks.
Its predecessor was released in the UK last year, receiving a string of laudatory reviews and notching up an incredible six million downloads around the world, with over 14.5 million poker hands being played since its launch.
The game allows up to six players to compete in real-time from anywhere in the world either on their mobile phone or via a PC - and according to T-Mobile it looks set to revolutionise the mobile poker market.
"The gameplay is intuitive and the graphics are slick, but it's the multiplayer element of WPT2 that will really generate excitement among both new and experienced poker players alike," commented Neil Holroyd, UK Games & Gambling manager at T-Mobile.
