New poker tables launched at two casinos
21st December, 2007
Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack and Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort – both in West Virginia – are expecting poker enthusiasts to flock to the venues now permission has been given for the new games.
It has taken five years for president of Mountaineer Casino Ted Arneault to be given the green light for the new table games to go ahead.
Speaking to the Review newspaper he said: "I really started proposing this idea in 2002.
"We built this very complex with table games in mind. We felt we needed this to complete the package of what we offer - to have the full complement of table games."
The ceremonies welcomed both employees of the casino and hundreds of onlookers who wanted to witness the launch of roulette, blackjack, three-card poker and craps.
Mr Arneault added that the new tables would "broaden our entire potential customer base".
