PKR Masters Ends

26th February, 2008

The PKR Masters, their biggest ever online poker tournament, finished last weekend with a total of over $160,000 won.

The events lasted from Friday night all through the weekend, culminating in the £75,000 PKR Masters trophy on the Saturday. 369 online poker players participated in the main event, raising it’s total prize pool to $92,000. The first place winner, named ‘floyd07’ contested for over nine hours to win the title of PKR Master and, of course, the $23,000 prize for first place.

Whilst some players paid the buy-in of $250, most participants qualified through the extensive range of satellites that allowed many of PKR’s members a chance in the tournament for as little as $3. The final table’s second place player, after qualifying for free through a promotional satellite, walked away with $13,000.

The weekend ended with the $25,000 guaranteed ‘Sunday Classic’ with a first prize take home prize of $6,250.

Just prior to the tournament PKR changed their tournament structure to ensure players get maximum time in play. This resulted in the huge turnout for the events. The Cardroom Manager for PKR, Neil Wright, said that they are "delighted with the turnout" and it has "justified their decision to amend the tournament’s structure".
