PKR launches Heads Up Phase Tournaments
19th March, 2008
Online gaming operator PKR.com has expanded its range of poker tournaments by introducing all-new Heads Up Phase games.
The two-seat virtual poker tables involve a series of heads-up battles in a tiered system of games, with each winner progressing up a level while their opponent moves down two.
Buy-ins are permitted at any stage of the proceeding and minimum Phase One pot contributions of just $4 (£2) have the potential to appreciate into a massive $380 first-place payout.
PKR introduced the heads-up games following on from the success of their similarly themed ten-seat, five-level phased tournaments. Those games have an initial buy-in of just 40 cents and yet offer an unbelievable maximum payout of $700.
Commenting on the success of the new games, PKR Cardroom Manager Neil Wright said: "Players have really taken to Phase tournaments because they recognise the value of getting so much poker - and a shot at such a great prize pool - for a really low buy-in. So moving the concept to a heads up format made a lot of sense."
PKR has earned a name for itself in poker industry through its emphasis on real-time 3D graphics in its virtual poker rooms.
