Paddy Power gears up for hectic March

3rd March, 2008

Paddy Power Poker will be hosting two of its largest ever online tournaments this month, in addition to giving away its usual $12.5 million (£6.3 million) worth of guaranteed cash prizes.

First up is the tantalisingly lucrative - if less than originally-named - $2 Million Guaranteed, which kicked off yesterday and boasts the single largest prize pool ever meted out by the online poker operator.

The minimum first prize will be a cool $400,000 and while you can join the event up-front with a buy-in of $1,580, the majority of participants will be weaving their way through a web of qualifying satellites before taking their seat at the main event.

Next up is Paddy Power's staple €3 Million (£2.3 million) Guaranteed Irish Poker Open. In addition to regular gaming fans, that tournament is expected to attract some of the biggest names in the poker world, with luminaries such as Doyle Brunson already having bought in.

"The Irish Open and the $2 Million Guaranteed are two world class events and our players will be spoiled for choice of big money tournaments this month," commented aptly-named company spokesman Paddy Power.
