Paddy Power sponsor the Irish Open

10th December, 2009

The Irish Open is fast approaching and the main sponsors, Paddy Power, have confirmed that the festival will be situated in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin. This will be the first time since 2007 that Ireland has hosted the event which saw Boylepoker’s Irish poker pro Marty Smyth win the title!

A spokesman from Paddy Power explained, “We are delighted to return to the Burlington Hotel, everyone loved the venue in 2007 and we’re expecting a similar reaction in 2010. The tournament room will be as well-presented as usual and with play located in the heart of Dublin, visitors to our lovely city can take in all the sights-and-sounds of one of Europe’s favourite locations, just minutes from the tables!”

In addition, Paddy Power will bring back the wonderful ‘Last Man Standing’ promotion. The promotion means that the player that heads the league, who qualified through Paddy Power, will be rewarded with a sponsorship package worth a massive €100,000. Head of Poker at Paddy Power explained, “We can’t wait to kick off the search for the next Sole Survivor, there are 100,000 reasons why it makes sense for players to qualify for the Irish Open 2010 on paddypowerpoker.com and nowhere else!”

If you are interested in staying at the Burlington Hotel with breakfast as well, you are entitled to the bargain price of €65 if you quote ‘IO 2010 – Irish Open’! For more information about the event or to get yourself signed up, visit Paddy Power today!
