Poker Den returns to UK screens

31st January, 2008

One of television's most popular poker tournaments made a comeback on terrestrial British television yesterday.

Party Poker's Poker Den: The Big Game II aired on Channel Five at midnight Wednesday evening and included such favourite regulars as Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott, Hoyt Corkins and Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson.

The TV poker tournament is dubbed as a "24-hour continuous cash game" and was organised by Matchroom Sport, who filmed it in an east London studio late 2007.

Jesse May returned as the commentator on the hit UK poker series, which Party Poker billed as its most exciting yet with a mere ten minutes passing before the first $20,000 (10,000) pot was won.

"The stakes were high and tempers were frayed as the big guns flexed their egos in London's most notorious back street venue," Party Poker's pre-broadcast release stated.

In another event sponsored by the operator, Beverly Pace won first place at the televised Party Poker Women's World Open, bagging $50,000 in the process.
