Whoever believes that gambling is 'no good' has obviously never met the citizens of Dearborn, Michigan. This June 6, a poker tournament will be held in Dearborn, all for the sake of education. Obviously, if gambling is 'no good' as some people say, then it wouldn't be able to serve such a good cause as the future of our children, now would it?

The Dearborn Public Schools Education Foundation, in collaboration with the Fairlane Club, will be hosting a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament on June 6, 2008. It will be held at the Fairlane Club, which is located at 5000 Fairlane Woods Drive in Dearborn City, Michigan. The event will be conducted by a professional casino gaming firm, so the participants can be certain that their gaming and gambling experience will be a smooth and pleasurable one.

The host, which is the Dearborn Public Schools Education Foundation, is a non-profit private organization that has been helping the public schools improve the quality of the education they offer for years now. They have been able to collect up to $1 million dollars to use for educational materials and technology and for the improvement of Dearborn's classrooms. Now, they intend to earn more.

For the amount of $75, a player can take part in the Texas HoldEm Tournament, which is the highlight of the whole event. There will also be other types of card games such as Blackjack and Craps held in the said event. There will also be a raffle, and you can be pretty sure that the prizes will be worth your while.

A Cash Bar will also be put up for the benefit of those who are to participate in the games. Food and drinks will be served all throughout the night, and a drink ticket will also be given to those who want to loosen up a bit through some alcohol. Of course, being responsible and well-meaning citizens, the foundation will make sure that only those who are over 21 years of age will be able to join the event.

All the proceeds will go to charity and will be spent for the betterment of the quality of the children's education.

The space is limited, so anyone interested is advised to file their reservations now. The deadline for the reservation of tickets is on May 30, 2008. After that, you'll have to rely on your luck if you want to join. Those who are interested are to contact Mr. Barb Parker, the foundation's Executive Director at (313)532-6481 or through email at [email protected]

There's nothing better than having fun while helping the community. This tournament is a great opportunity for poker players to help make the schools better places for the education of our children and to have great fun at the same time.
