The site, which has 6,500 registered members and over 600,000 poker forum articles has concluded the first part of its very own online poker league.

In 2004, the operator launched the Gauntlet which it said would aim to help both amateur poker players and pros battle it out in a friendly competition among the FTR community.

Players pay nothing got join the series which consists of a number of low buy-in tournaments where players accumulate points.

There are 24 multi-table tournaments in a season with each player being allowed to partake in a maximum of 12 games.

Cash prizes are available, while the operator also adds other bonuses in as the poker season progresses.

This year's champion of Gauntlet VI was poker player Jimmy Mac, who "dominated the leaderboard throughout most of the season".
