In a feature aimed at showing where poker is heading over the next few years, the publication cited 19-year-old Annette Obrestad as an example of how the game was appealing to younger players.
Ms Obrestad, who picked up her skills by playing regular online poker, was just 18 years of age when she wowed the crowds by winning the Main Event of the World Series of Poker Europe.
The article also discusses the boom in online poker players as well as its growing popularity on the TV thanks to a rising number of celebrity fans including Ben Affleck and Tobey Maguire.
It adds that the gambling sector is still a hugely lucrative industry stating that "poker is by far the largest chunk of the online gambling market".
According to stats published in The Economist, online poker saw global revenues of around $15 billion (£7.5 million) in 2006.
