Leading online gaming operator PokerStars has announced its support for Life Ball 2008, an annual charity event that aims to raise money for HIV/Aids research.

Since 1993, the event has gained a reputation among celebrities and philanthropists for being a 'celebration of life' - with a strong emphasis being placed on providing entertainment to spur on charitable donations.

Giving an unusual slant to its regular freerolls, PokerStars has therefore decided to award one online poker enthusiast an exclusive Life Ball prize package this Saturday (May 3rd).

Entry to the poker game is only open to people who appear in the top 100 of daily freerolls that take place throughout the week.

In addition to granting access to the invitation-only fundraiser, the Life Ball prize package also includes flights for two to Vienna as well as a stay in a luxury hotel and $250 (£125) for expenses.

The top 200 players in the May 3rd freeroll will also receive frequent player point in accordance with what position they finish on the table.
