PokerStars brings back Sunday Millions
12th April, 2008
This week saw the return of one of the online poker world's most popular competitions: the PokerStars Sunday Millions.
Having attracted an incredible 7,680 participants - each of whom forked out a sizable $200 (£100) buy-in - the Texas Hold'Em Sunday Millions notched up an overall prize pool of $1,536,000.
That fell short of the $1,869,000 raised in last week's $1,000-buy-in tournament but was still large enough to guarantee the first-place winner a cool $217,000 cash bounty.
Rather than risking it all for that top prize, however, the final two players - VagaLion and V00D00CHILE - opted to split the pot between them, earning a guaranteed $147,816 each and leaving the comparatively small sum of $30,000 on the table
With money in the bank the players were able to enjoy the final few hands in relative comfort, with VagaLion eventually putting paid to proceedings and lifting his overall winnings up to $177,816.
Online gamer princessl111 finished in third place, earning $76,800 for her trouble, while $61,440 went to fourth-placed exceed_EXE.
