Pokerstars offers 1,000 WSOP packages

Pokerstars.com is offering 1,000 places at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament being held in Las Vegas, worth a total of $12.5m (£6.26m).

Winners will receive free entry to the WSOP worth $10,000 (£5,008) plus $2,500 (£1,252) in spending money and eight night's complimentary accommodation at the Palms Hotel, Las Vegas.

Qualifying tournaments will start with buy-ins as low as $2 (£1) and will also offer regular players the opportunity to trade their Frequent Player Points for a seat.

Pokerstars.com has sent over 3,600 players to the WSOP since 2002 and is also offering cash incentives to online players who succeed at the main event, with any online winners making the final televised table receiving $50,000 (£25,035).

According to the Pokerstars.com website, the company hosts some of the largest online poker tournaments in the world and also offers qualifying tournaments for the Latin American Poker Tour and the European Poker Tour.
