Pub Poker Raises money for Charity

16th November, 2007

24-hour tournament will be held over Christmas.

Charity will be the only certain winner when a Warwickshire pub stages a 24-hour Texas hold ‘em poker tournament over Christmas.

Enterprise Inns tenant Fred Hepburn already has a dozen customers lined up for the marathon card school at the Hod Carrier at Whitnash near Leamington Spa. The dealing starts at 2pm on Saturday, December 29 and play won’t stop until 2pm the following day.

Fred has managed to raise £1500 in sponsorship and the tournament is not for another six weeks. There will be twelve two hour poker sessions with a Grand Prix style points system in place in order to decide the winner who will win a cup.
