11th March, 2008
Huck Seed has landed the main event at the 2008 Canadian Open Poker Championships in Calgary Alberta at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino.
The talented poker player saw off the challenge of 'Yukon' Brad Booth after a five hour-plus match which ended in the small hours.
Having scooped the best-of-three game, Seed walks away with $100,000 from the poker tournament and adds to his blossoming reputation.
"This was an amazing tournament in terms of both structure and quality of players" he commented.
"I love it when the cream rises to the top and I get a chance to play with the best in the world. I am so happy that I finally won a heads up tournament."
Seed has previously finished 3rd at the Canadian Open, as well as 3rd at the NBC Invitational Heads Up Event.
In total more than 600 poker players battled it out for a combined pot of $700,000.
