Sex and the City star turns poker guru
22nd January, 2008
Former Sex and the City star Willie Garson has come up trumps in one of the web most popular online poker tournaments.
The pint-sized actor - who played a gay, bald fashion-lover in the hit HBO series - managed to win last week's Canadian Poker Night tournament at Hollywood Poker.
Each week the website hosts three celebrity events that give regular players the chance to face off against some of online poker's more recognisable, though not necessarily talented, players.
Despite his relative inexperience, Garson had little difficulty seeing off the competition at the virtual poker table, dominating proceedings from the get-go and eventually toppling Hollywood Poker regular beebo0x to romp home with the trophy.
Commenting on his fabulous win - which also saw him send fellow celebs Christopher Rich and Ken Howard packing - Garson said: "It was a good day and the cards were on my side. It felt great because there are so many really good players on the site."
The next Michael Woods Celebrity Invitational play is this Saturday and has a buy-in of $10+$1, with up to $1,000 (£512) in bounties.
