Sky Poker launches X-Factor style talent search

14th December, 2009

Online leading poker brand Sky Poker have taken on the challenge of finding themselves the next star by carrying out an X-Factor style show on the quest to find the next poker player with the ‘X’ factor!

The competition, named Total Player, will seek out the best poker player with help from mentors Matt Broughton, Ed Giddins and David Tuckman who will reel through poker tables to pick out the players they believe have the potential to go all the way.

Once the three mentors have selected potential candidates they will then assist the players from amateur to professional to see who has what it takes to be crowned the winner.

For this competition it is simple to qualify and every player at Sky Poker has the chance to be put forward as a potential winner of the Total Player competition. For your chance to win you have to be in the top 50 players of the cash games, sit and goes and MTTs each week as they will be handed to the mentors for analysing to see if they have professional potential.

The mentors are seeking top players so will be hard to impress, looking for those players who carry the understanding and skill of the game. In addition, the trio will be on the lookout for those players who are able to dodge big hands and make re-raises whilst keeping their cool at the table.

The mentors will narrow down the choice to six lucky players for the seven week competition that will be aired on TV. The lucky player, who gets crowned the winner of the series by the public, will be entered into three tournaments to be in with a chance of getting their hands on some large cash sums, before being whisked off to play at the WSOP!!

A spokesman from Sky Poker explained, “Total Player will contain everything that has made Sky Poker so popular, it will deliver a great deal of excitement and opportunity to our playing community, an educational element and of course the chance to win big!”
