Sky to air WSOP Europe 2007

16th April, 2008

Sky Sports will shortly air highlights from the inaugural World Series of Poker Europe (WSOP Europe) event, held in London capital last September.

The tournament will be making its TV debut between April 21st and 28th on Sky Sports 2, Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports Xtra from 21:00 BST every night. On April 26th and 28th the show will start late at 23:00 and 21:30 respectively.

Last year's series attracted some of the world's biggest poker names, with teenage sensation Annette Obrestad cementing her reputation as a leading figure on the circuit after becoming the youngest ever winner of a WSOP bracelet.

In a double whammy, the series also saw her become the first woman to win a $10,000 (£5,000) buy-in WSOP Main Event.

Appearing in an advertisement for the upcoming TV premier, Obrestad said: "To find out how I did it, watch the 2007 WSOP Europe on Sky Sports. I look forward to seeing you at this year's WSOP Europe event in London."

WSOP Europe 2008 will be presented by Betfair and is to take place at three casinos across the British capital from September 19th to October 1st.
