The unique chips are expected to be a big hit with gaming enthusiasts this festive season, who are invited to follow their Christmas lunches with a unique game of poker.

Available from gadget store The Sharper Image, the chip set has a chrome Death Star dealer button alongside red, blue and green chips featuring pictures of famous Star Wars characters.

Designed by Russell Walks, who has been illustrating Star Wars images since 1977, the set contains 50 Luke Skywalker chips, 50 Obi-Wan Kenobi chips, 50 green chips featuring Yoda and 50 red chips – emblazoned with the face of Darth Vader.

When stacked together inside its box, the set even resembles a Star Wars Lightsaber thanks to the 72 LEDs which provide illumination.

Be prepared to splash out on this gift however – at $149 (£73) it's not cheap – but it does come with two high-quality card decks in foil boxes.
