Sun Poker repeats WSOP promotion

19th March, 2008

Online gaming operator Sun Poker has confirmed that it will be repeating its popular World Series of Poker (WSOP) give-away ahead of this July's series of tournaments.

The online poker house said it will give away a total of $300,000 (£150,000) worth of packages during the promotions by offering 25 prize packages to the Las Vegas main event - each of them worth $12,000.

A statement issued by the site noted that while many operators offer prize packages to the event - widely accepted as being the most important two weeks of the poker calendar - few offer rewards to the runners-up of such satellites and qualifying tournaments.

"Most poker rooms offer WSOP freerolls but they usually award the package only for the winner of such events. In these cases, if you play for hours and finish second for a bad beat or two you go home with nothing," the press release read.

In order to qualify for one of Sun Poker's promotions players must earn between ten and 20 MyPokerPoints in a single day, granting them free access to a satellite for one of its daily qualifying tournaments.

The grand final for the WSOP Mega Freeroll will be held on May 11th.
