Tichelman takes WSOP Circuit

Relative newcomer Bart Tichelman has won the $7,500 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit main event at Tunica.
Mr Tichelman, from Atlanta, came away from the tables with a healthy $415,595 (£220,000) after beating 179 other players, according to cardplayer.com.
The website reported that this was his first major poker tournaments win at the Grand Casino-hosted event.
His poker game picked up during the last stretch; with nine players left he was second to last with 164,000 against chip leader John Devia with 929,500.
Mr Devia finished fourth in the game, which saw second place Donald Nicholson take $229,309 and Giovanni Marcacci finish third with $126,000.
WSOP began in 1970 in Binion's Horseshoe, Las Vegas and the first contest took place in a small room among about 30 poker players.
Poker players' winnings at the WSOP can be checked out on the tournaments' official website, which has a search facility and lists total WSOP winnings as well as total earnings.
